Helping Youth Develop a Whole Person Identity

Helping Youth Develop a Whole Person Identity

Commit to giving them a sense of their dignity and value as whole persons with capacity for virtue and lasting love in marriage.

Refuse to expect them to apply such abstractions as “protect yourself” “be safe” on a personalized “intimacy continuum?”

Refuse to think of the meaning of sexuality as something that is defined as a matter of personal opinion and explained only by experience. Instead, we need to hang our hats on an objective standard of virtue and character that transcends our own individual feeling, emotions and memories.

Acknowledge that sexual self-control is the only sure “protection” from the consequences of risk-taking behaviors.

Reject any sex education curricula that do not emphasize abstinence, character and good marriages and relies on scare tactics; pregnancy and transmitted diseases.
